FSAE is the largest student engineering competition in the world, involving more than 500 universities around the world. FSAE was founded by SAE(Society of Automotive Engineers) in 1981. Americans believed that only in the classroom could cultivate outstanding engineers. Through the process of building a formula car from scratch and putting it into a competition, students can strengthen their practical ability, put more enthusiasm and effort to achieve higher results, and experience team activity. This event was later picked up by the JAMA(Japan Automobile Manufacturers Association), especially in 2003, the same event was held in Japan to encourage Japanese students to participate in the event, and later gradually became the highest-standard university engineering competition in Asia.

The emergence of FST (Formula Student Taiwan) originated from a group of people who believed in the value of FSAE. In Taiwan, a group of students participate in FSAE events every year and build a Formula Student car in one year. The biggest goal is: "Running on the track to prove your engineering ability from design to manufacture."

Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 in 2020, global events have either been canceled or postponed, and the eight participating schools in Taiwan have also lost their chance to compete. Therefore, we created the FST(Formula Student Taiwan) to promote the FSAE, and also let the value of the competition be deeply cultivated in Taiwan. Through this competition, we will continue to cultivate more talents, so that Taiwanese talents will not only follow the trend but also create the trend in the electric vehicle field. The Formula Student competition was originally founded by the American Society of Automotive Engineers in 1981. The reason for this competition was that Americans believed that only in the classroom can good engineers be trained.

By building a formula car from scratch and investing in it The process of competition allows students to strengthen their practical ability, put more enthusiasm and effort to achieve higher results, and experience team activities, which is regarded as a competition to cultivate better human resources for the society. This event was later picked up by the Japan Automotive Engineering Association, especially in 2003, the same event was held in Japan to encourage Japanese students to participate in the event, and later gradually became the highest-standard university engineering competition in Asia.

For this competition, students from each school will organize a team to develop and produce a small racing car formally. From this process, students will have to study the various designs of the vehicle, including power, chassis, frame, aerodynamics Power integration, etc., and build a small formula car that can compete from scratch, not only that but also the team's team communication, work distribution, marketing control, fund recruitment, public relations planning, and traffic planning. , From this process, students will begin to learn knowledge that is not in the textbook, and this knowledge will become an important experience for them to enter the workplace in the future, and this is the essence of participating in this competition.

FST is committed to promoting racing events, and hopes that as a foreign outpost, it will assist student teams to build their racing cars and cultivate outstanding talents in the automotive industry!
